When I search my pseudonym on the internet, my blog doesn’t even appear on the first page. However, there is my name under every article. This SEO nonsense is tiring me out…
Greetings! I’m Dom Adao…
I’ve been looking at other writers’ about pages. I couldn’t quite grasp the logic of an about page, because wouldn’t writing about myself tell people more than simply introducing myself?
“Hello! I’m Dom Adao. On my blog, I criticize society, humanity, and life. Especially humanity. For instance: why do people who have the power to build a beautiful world turn it into hell for others in pursuit of even more power?”
Also, people on their about pages tend to talk less about themselves and more about the schools they attended, the social responsibility projects they joined, the celebrities they’ve met.
“Hi, I’m Dom Adao. Should I introduce myself here, or my blog?”
Introducing myself feels pointless. People come here for my writing, not for me. Introducing the blog is equally absurd, the writing is right there. Should I just summarize everything?
“Hey! I’m Aom Adao. I’m an expert in literary essayism.”
These days, you don’t need a wet-ink certificate from an accredited institution to call yourself an expert in something, do you?
SEO is writing for machines. Literature is writing for humans.
“I’m Dom Adao. I write for humans, but I have to clear the machine’s hurdles. Behold, this is my blog, Madao’s Journals. If you are new here, welcome.”
